Here is my MadLib:  You know email is NOT dead when…

  • LinkedIN has been using emails to bring me back to their site for years.
  • Social media impresario Chris Brogan’s website is optimized to convert people to email subscribers.
  • Everyone and their mom is doing pop-up boxes and light boxes on their websites to get your email address.

My favorite campaign is LinkedIn’s  “endorsement” emails.   Lets just talk about this for a second,  I get an email that basically says: “This dude just complemented you big time come check it out”.  Linkedin officially answered the “What’s in it for me?” that drives successful email campaigns.   Learn from this.  This email has been brilliantly designed to get you stay engaged with Linkedin.   If email is dead, why would one of the biggest, most addicting social networks in the world email me all the time?  Email is bigger than ever.  Believe that.
